Beyond Trees: Building a Community for Better Forests
At the 62ⁿᵈ Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation, we will launch the Beyond Trees research initiative through our symposium: Beyond Trees: A More Inclusive Growth-Form Perspective on Ecology and Society in Tropical Landscapes.

Beyond Trees is a research community dedicated to understanding, celebrating, and advancing the study of the diverse growth forms that make forests possible. By looking beyond trees, we aim to build a more inclusive understanding of forest ecology, biodiversity, and sustainability.
Explore our featured speakers and their research through an interactive collection of beyond-tree growth forms developed for the conference. Whether you already work on palms, bamboos, lianas, epiphytes, grasses, or other overlooked growth forms, or are simply curious to learn more, we would love to connect.
We are also developing future collaborative initiatives, including a special collection open to community contributions.
