Rediscovering Agroforestry
From ancient homegardens through colonial disruption — to the rediscovery of practices never truly lost.
This course is currently under development and explores the history of sustainable agroforestry before the rise of monoculture, along with the future of agroforestry and sustainable agriculture. An accompanying interactive teaching website provides readings, visualizations, and hands-on exercises for use both in the classroom and as independent assignments.

Ecological Dialogues Across Civilizations
In summer 2025, I taught this course in person at Veritas China Summer School. Designed as an introduction to liberal arts education through the lens of ecology, it is intended for students interested in environmental disciplines and the intersections among biology, environmental studies, anthropology, and sustainable development.
Introduction to Ecological Thinking
Deciphering patterns and processes
An undergraduate course I designed to introduce ecological thinking with a focus on connecting ecological questions to different ecological methods with a flipped classroom format. It will be available online for public access.
In summer 2024, I offered this course in Mandarin online in collaboration with Veritas China, a student-led organization promoting liberal arts education. You can check out the themed teaching notes for the course below.
